You've been dying to learn macrame and now is your chance to create a beautiful, textured wall hanging alongside a professional artist in a lovely, neighborhood shop! Join us on Thursday, Nov 8th from 6-8pm.
We will begin with intros and wine. Next, Amy will teach you several knot techniques and help you practice and perfect each one. Using those knot designs, you will create your very own macrame design. She will help guide you with designing, knotting and the overall look of your piece. Once your design is complete, you will trim and fray the ends. Everyone will complete their unique wall hanging during class so it is ready to hang the minute you get home! Your finished piece is generously sized at approximately 1 foot wide by 3-4 feet long. This workshop is perfect for anyone wanting a fun, creative experience where you leave with a completed craft. Grab a friend and join the group!

Mark your calendars and join us for an evening of candle-making fun. Thursday, Sept 20th from 6:30-8:30. To purchase your ticket and for all the info head to:https://dabble.co/chicago/candle-making/classes/candles-cocktails-at-shop-1021-with-jess-snively
Transform your favorite mug into an adorable soy wax candle in an interactive candle-making class. The class, led by Chicago candle-maker Jessica Snively, creator of Milton and Margie’s Soy Wax Candles, teaches you everything you need to know to make a soy wax candle in a reused or vintage container.
She’s poured candles in nearly everything that can be described as a “container”—quirkier finds have included a glass cowboy boot, vintage egg cup, honey bear jar, and mug that says “He ain’t heavy, he’s my brother”—so feel free to go on a thrift-shopping spree before class.
Throughout the process, you’ll create your own signature fragrance from a blend of scented soy-based oils. I’ll supply a bunch of eclectic oils with options from floral (e.g., Lavender and Juniper) to natural (e.g., Cedar and Eucalyptus) and sweet (e.g., Buttercream and Fudge Brownie) to rugged (e.g., Leather).
All the supplies are provided, including wax and fragrance oils. You can bring your own container or purchase one on-site. You’ll get 1 lb. of wax, and depending on the size of your container(s), you’ll leave with 1–2 completed candles. (For reference, 16 oz. of wax will fill a container approximately the size of a standard can of veggies.)
Mark your calendars!!! Wednesday, June 27th 6:30-8:30pm our first ever Tea Mixology Workshop!
It’s summer and you are ready to enjoy the fantastic weather and taste some delicious cocktails.
We will learn three different kinds of cocktails, including methods for steeping tea that work best with cocktails.
Every student will leave with a takeaway recipe card, tea samples to make their own tea at home and endorphins on high.
What to bring: Your good vibes! A phone because you’ll want to snap pics of your cocktails. A full belly because there is no bigger party pooper than someone who can’t handle a cocktail. Maybe that apron that you never wear but you want a picture in. Bring whatever you want that’s going to make this workshop fun for you.
What you can expect: Make new friends. Learn how to use teas as an addition your mixology repertoire. Taste some quality wine. Tips and tools of the trade. How to formulate your own recipes.
Olé imports will provide wine for us.
